A restaurant-worthy high-protein dinner at home. Seared yellowfin tuna with edamame, sesame, and ginger dressing over rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 tuna steaks (150g each)
  • 1 cup edamame, shelled (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Season tuna steaks with salt and pepper on all sides.
  2. 2. Heat a skillet or grill pan over very high heat until smoking. Add sesame oil and sear tuna for 60–90 seconds per side for medium-rare, or 2 minutes per side for fully cooked.
  3. 3. Remove tuna and let rest 2 minutes, then slice into strips.
  4. 4. Cook edamame according to package directions if frozen. Warm and season with a pinch of salt.
  5. 5. Mix soy sauce and grated ginger to make a simple dressing.
  6. 6. Serve rice in bowls, top with tuna slices and edamame. Drizzle with ginger-soy dressing and sprinkle sesame seeds.
